Jeep's Mcintosh amplified factory audio system includes Active Noise Cancelation, or ANC. The ANC designed to pick up on low frequency road noise and cancels out any undesirable sounds, making your drive less noisy. The Jeep Mcintosh ANC system in your vehicle can become a major headache when adding aftermarket audio, such as subwoofers. The JEEP's ANC microphones will send feedback from the aftermarket subs low frequency through the speakers, making an odd sound or random "pops" that come and go, distorting your music.

  • Factory wires and warranty stay in tact
  • No feedback on subwoofer installations
  • OEM plugs
  • reversible
  • Allows transmission positioning data to amplifier to continue. prevents error codes from log checks.

The Jeep Mcintosh ANC bypass harness will plug into your amplifier module located in the trunk. This will bypass the ANC microphones and cancel any noise feedback.

The RAM jeep ANC microphones are located in the headliner, if you need to verify look for these microphones in the headliner. If you need further assistance please reach out to us.

FAQ

Is there another way to disable my ANC?

Yes there are a few other ways.

  1. Cut the wires at the factory amp. (absolutely not recommended)
  2. Prop the headliner and disconnect the ANC microphones (does not always work)
  3. Some vehicles have the ability to disable in the software. (this can turn back on by itself)
After about 20 minutes that I turned off my vehicle, my subs will start to make a loud rumble. Why? Is this ANC?

NO, this happens when the vehicles security system sends a signal to the radio or amplifier that triggers the LOC or amp on.

Using DC offset OR audio turn-on will fix the problem for you. This can happen with vehicles regardless of having ANC.

Where do I plug in this bypass?

There are 3 places you can and it depends on the vehicle manufacturer and equipment.

  • Factory radio
  • Factory amplifier
  • Factory ANC module

Our harnesses have a 'where to plug in at' section for each bypass harness.
