Elite Base Connector

The Elite Base Connector is the brains of the operation. This is the part of the Elite Harness System that connects to the vehicles radio or amplifier. The Base Connector sends and receives the signal from the vehicle to the aftermarket amplifier or DSP and then directs the output from them through the Loopback Harness via the speaker wires and into the speaker locations. The Base Connector provides signal, return, power, and ground. 12v up to 10amps of draw.

By adding a T-Harness or Loopback Harness Accessory, you can extend the reach of the Base Connector to the ideal installation location.

Elite Harness System FAQ

Base Connector

Why do I need a Base Connector?

The Base Connector is the portion of the harness that will plug into the vehicle (either at the radio or amp) and provides the signal the vehicle offers, that will be sent through the harness Accessory to your aftermarket amp or processor.

How do I know what Base Connector I need?

This is based on your vehicles electrical package and where the signal comes from.

If your vehicle has a factory amplifier, the connection will need to be made there. Otherwise the connection is made at the radio receiver. Things to know when looking at the harness are:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • If its equipped with a factory amplifier like Bose, Alpine, Sony

Harness Accessory

I want to add a subwoofer now but upgrade my doors & dash later. What do I need?

There are 2 options in this case.

  1. You can go with an Elite T-Harness for subs, and when you are ready to add your speaker amplifier you can come back for a Loopback Harness Accessory.
  2. You go with a Loopback Harness and tie the wire ends on the harness to each other (signal side to the return side) essentially creating a 4ch T-harness. That can be wired to a 2/4ch LOC for subs and once you decide to expand your system, the ends would be taken back apart. Opening once again the Loopback Harness to offer a signal and return.
How do I know what Accessory to get?

The Accessory you require is based on what you are installing.

- A T-harness will provide a front left, right signal along with power and ground.

- A Loopback Harness will provide left, right, front and rear signal from the factory radio/amplifier to the aftermarket amplifier/processor/LOC and then return it to the factory speaker locations via the factory wiring.

LOC's, AMP's, DSP's

What is the difference between a passive LOC and an active LOC?

A

Can I wire my amplifier directly to the harness?

This will depend on the amplifiers input sensitivity, if it can not only handle a high level input but the output your vehicle offers. In a non-amplified system a high level would be about 10v, in a factory amplified system a high level is anywhere from 28-35v of input sensitivity. You want to be sure and check your amps manual beforehand.

Do I really need a DSP?

EMI blocking twisted wire

We don't use speed wire/9 wire, its 🚮. Our Harnesses use our custom-made twisted pair wire. Made in the USA. Our wire is fully twisted from end to end not just the parts you can see.
