The following are guidelines you can use to optimize your installation and avoid surprises or down time. Please read the information available for your vehicle. Please let us know if you have any questions, Thank you. 😁
GM | GMC | Cadilac | Buick

-None Factory Amplified Vehicles: The BC will connect at the radio or HMI unit that can be located behind the screen on 2014-2018 models or behind the glove box on select 2018-2024 models.

-Factory Amplified with Bose: The Bose factory amplifier has a signal output of 0-36V and will require an LOC or Amplifier capable of high level input, with that voltage range. The Bose amp can be found in the trunk on either the LEFT or RIGHT side, behind the beauty panels in all Sedans & SUV's. It will be located on the back wall in all Pick-ups equipped with Bose. Some crossovers will have the amp under the center console BUT it can also be the ANC mixxer, in that situation your BC will connect behind the glovebox.

-Factory Amplified with Pioneer: Select 2013-2015 vehicles with the Pioneer amplifier will have it under the steering wheel to the left. (Black metal box)

Ford | Lincon

-None Factory Amplified Vehicles: Ford is by far one of the most universal when it comes to parts across their different models. The radio connection can be found behind the screen below the AC controls (CD player/radio unit). This is a 6x6x4 metal box independent of the screen. Keep in mind, that you can use a FORScan to flatten your EQ and/or delete your ANC. If you plan on replacing the factory speakers, keep in mind that load resistors may be needed. ALL LOCs we offer have load resistance built-in. However if going high level into an amp, you will need to add resistors before the amp.

-Factory Amplified with B&O: The B&O amp can be located behind glove box, behind the fuse access panel. Amps will have branding labels.

-Factory Amplified with Sony: The Sony Amp can be found on the back wall, behind the driver side rear seat. Amps will have branding labels.

Dodge | JEEP | RAM | Fiat

-None Factory Amplified Vehicles: Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Fiat are keeping it classic and leaving the radio connection behind the radio screen. If you plan on replacing the factory speakers, keep in mind that load resistors may be needed. ALL LOCs we offer have load resistance built-in. However, if going high level into an amp you will need to add resistors before the amp.

-Factory Amplified with Alpine: The Alpine amplifier can be found under the steering wheel, to the left or under either of the front seats. This amp is small and can be silver or black, depending on if you have the 9 or 12 speaker system. The ANC bypass (copied by PAC/Stinger and sold for more) will also plug in here.

The Elite 2 Channel T-Harness Accessory is the option needed when installing a mono amp and subs. This will offer signal, power and ground to the LOC of your choice. The accessory has a built in, in-line fuse; your factory radio/factory amp is protected from any short with your aftermarket mono amp.

This can be customized and built to a full plug and play kit, for example:

  • For a simple LOC set-up, we offer a Link2. An active LOC, with RCA out and remote turn on for your amp. It is a compact option, with distortion detection and auto restoration.
  • If you’re looking for the most bass out of your system, we offer a bassRESTOR. This will not only boost the lower frequencies provided, but also add any missing low frequencies. This is something that would typically take 2 units to achieve.
  • Lastly, you can skip the LOC completely and keep your set up extremely simple and easy. The amps we offer can handle a high level and have a built-in processor; the harness can be wired directly to it. An Audio Control amp like an LC1.800 offers GTO, which allows the amp to turn on when it senses audio signal come through.

You always have the option of using your own equipment. The harness can be wired to your own LOC or Amp (verify the input voltage before wiring directly). You can add Wire Ferrules or RCA to your harness, depending on what your equipment requires.

What Is High Level or Low level?

High level : AKA Speaker level is an amp that can handle an input voltage of 8-40v. This high output is common in factory amplified vehicles or where the
max voltage of a head unit is more then 10v. This is normally identified by a pigtail connection point or via the RCA on the amplifier (must check user manual to verify.) Some amps have a switch for this. NOT all amps have this future.

Low Level : is 0-8v of signal voltage. This is most commonly found inaftermarket head units. or other aftermarket units that use can-bus. Most passive LOC units output 0-5v so they are considered a low level and are normally RCA to RCA. Modern day ACTIVE LOC units can output 0-10v of signal.

In conclusion an LOC works as an in line filter that lest you control the signal, its intercity and in some cases the playable frequency range.

If your amp takes a high level and it is within the vehicles factory output range then you dont need an loc unit and can wire in and out of your amp
directly. In some fords the signal can be flattened at the OB2 furthering the simplification of the installation.
